Score	Severity	Guidance
0–2	Low risk	Drinking patterns appear within low-risk limits. Reinforce healthy choices and screen periodically.
3–7	Positive screen	Score ≥3 is positive for hazardous drinking in women; ≥4 in men. A brief motivational intervention and psychoeducation about standard-drink sizes are recommended. Consider the full AUDIT for a complete picture.
8–12	High risk	Score strongly suggests harmful or high-risk alcohol use. Full AUDIT evaluation and warm referral to a substance-use specialist are recommended.
