What's STAR?
Situation (set the scene) → Task (your job in it) → Action (what you did) → Result (how it turned out). Aim for 5–6 stories that cover the common themes below — you can adapt them to almost any question. Full walkthrough on the interview preparation page.

Questions your stories can answer
Most behavioral questions are versions of these. Match a story to each theme.
Conflict
- Tell me about a time you disagreed with a coworker or boss.
- Describe a difficult person you had to work with.
Problem-solving
- Tell me about a problem you solved creatively.
- Describe a time you had to figure something out with little guidance.
Teamwork
- Give an example of a successful team you were part of.
- Tell me about a time you helped a teammate.
Leadership
- Describe a time you took the lead on something.
- Tell me about a time you motivated others.
Mistake / learning
- Tell me about a mistake you made and what you did about it.
- Describe a time you received hard feedback.
Pressure / deadline
- Tell me about a time you worked under pressure.
- Describe a time you juggled competing priorities.
Customer / service
- Tell me about a time you handled an upset customer.
- Describe a time you went above and beyond for someone.
